The Space Hippie 01 is made of at least 50% recycled material by weight. As most of you know by now, the model is part of an exploratory footwear collection constructed with Nike’s own “space junk”. The collection transforms scrap material from factory floors into a radical expression of circular design. From the upper to the outsole, the Space Hippie 01 is made of at least 50% recycled material by weight. Its “Space Waste Yarn” upper includes about 90% recycled polyester made from recycled plastic bottles, t-shirts and yarn scraps. Orange stitched Swooshes, a Maroon hue appearing on the pull tabs atop its signature chunky Crater Foam sole completes the design.
