The Nike KD 14 “Ky-D” commemorates the strong friendship between Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant on and off the court. Its sporadically-covered mesh base boasts a bevy of hues and patterns informed by the honor and privilege Irving felt upon joining the prestigious Nike Basketball family at 22 years old. Durant’s take displays more of the brightly-colored pattern across the heel than his current teammate’s shoe, but forgoes any gradient profile swooshes. Instead, the 14th Nike KD proposition features a scarlet-dipped lockdown strap, which matches the outsole perfectly. This offering of the Nike KD 14 applies the hue of Kyrie 1 “Dream” to KD’s latest silhouette to complete a true hybrid design. Multi-colored geometric patterns from Irving’s aforementioned pair are copied and pasted onto the underlays and tongues to spruce the KD 14 with a playful aesthetic. The Air Zoom Strobel midsoles are given a black background and contrasted with a yellow bar that’s seated at the middle. The combination of Zoom Strobel and Kuchelon gives you the energy return power you need for refreshing play from the start of the match to the final second of the match, and delivers the KD14’s signature technology beneath your feet.
