The Air Jordan 3 “UNC” is a Carolina-blue-based colorway of the Jordan 3 design inspired by the University of nNorth Carolina Tarheels. As closely associated to MJ as the classic Bulls colors, UNC’s iconic Carolina Blue has become a keystone of the Jordan Brand lexicon — releases often arriving on a monthly cadence. Even this past All-Star Weekend had a women’s pair of both the aforementioned tones, PEs following shortly thereafter. Now, with specific spotlight on the athlete’s alma mater, the Jumpman is pushing a commemorative Air Jordan 3 “UNC” for general release, bringing all the prideful colors though without any Tar Heels insignia in tow. Instead, it favors versatile white leathers and heritage cement prints that come accented at few points — heel molds, tongue embroidery, eye stay — for a small but noticeable nod to the school itself.
